CEU Completes Its Participation in the 2017 Vis Moot

This year, CEU continued its long tradition of participation in the Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot. The Moot, which takes place in Vienna, is the world’s largest moot competition, attracting participants from more than 300 law schools from around the globe every year. The CEU team comprised four LL.M. students (Tamuna Beridze, Yuliya Edlina, Alexander Mzhelskiy, and Radu Somlea), and was coached by two senior SJD Candidates (Wasiq Dar and Boris Prastalo).

On April 22, two international firms, OPL Attorneys (law firm) and ExplicoTech (consultancy) welcomed students from the International Business Law LLM and SJD at their premises, for a 3-hour long event aimed at contributing to their professional development, co-organized with the Legal Studies Department.

A new issue of the Lawyr.it magazine

A new issue of the Lawyr.it magazine has been published on March 1, 2017. Lawyr.it, a project supported by our department, is a peer-reviewed legal journal focused on law students from Central and Eastern European countries. Considering that the young minds of law students coming from all over the region can offer a fresh perspective and valuable solutions to different legal issues, Lawyr.it provides a platform for students from the region to share their ideas, access exciting opportunities and develop various skills through their website and magazine.

CEU Vis Moot Team at the Mostar Vis Moot Training and Pre-Moot

On February 18, 2017, the CEU’s Vis Moot team participated in a Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot Training held in Mostar, Bosnia and Herzegovina. The training was organized by the Association ARBITRI, and sponsored by the Commercial Law Development Program (CLDP), U.S. Department of Commerce, and U.S. Embassy Sarajevo.
