Ioana is an S.J.D. Candidate at the Legal Department at CEU, in the International Business Law stream. Her SJD research focuses on Data protection & Privacy, Internet and Technology regulation, having a special interest for the interplay between digital transformation and disruption, and law and regulation. She has been a Visiting Scholar at Columbia Law School, a Visiting Research Fellow in Beijing, at the China University of Political Science and Law and a Research Fellow at the Swiss Institute for Comparative Law (Lausanne).

Currently she runs her own business consultancy, working with SMEs in CEE on business optimization and GDPR compliance matters. She is also a regular collaborator of the Riga Graduate School of Law, a GigaNet Secretary and an ICANN Fellow, Coach and NPOC Membership Chair.

She is also a Teaching Associate at Babes-Bolyai University, Faculty of Law and a President of AGORA Debate association, having previously been a tutor in the CEU Open Learning Initiative and a Teaching Assistant at CEU for Big Data course.
