In November 2017, Associate Professor and Director of the Legal Studies Doctoral Studies Program, Mathias Moschel, has published a co-edited book on Critical Race Theory (CRT) in France entitled: “Critical Race Theory: une introduction aux grands textes fondateurs” (Dalloz, 2017). This book is the first one dedicated to CRT in French language. Each contributor was asked to translate one of CRT’s founding writings and provide an introductory comment on why they believed the pieces they translated were pertinent or irrelevant for the French reality. Thus, this publication ultimately consists in a double translation – linguistic and conceptual – of a selection of CRT’s main works.
