Sruthisagar Yamunan is a SJD candidate in Comparative Constitutional Law at the Central European University, Vienna.

Born in Chennai, Tamil Nadu, Yamunan worked as an English-language journalist in India for more than a decade before joining the doctoral programme at CEU's Department of Legal Studies in 2022. As a journalist, Yamunan has extensive experience covering law and politics in India, having worked for news organisations such as Scroll.in and The Hindu. He also holds a Master's degree in Comparative Constitutional Law from CEU.

Yamunan's doctoral research focuses on Supreme Courts in the South Asian region, particularly the office of the Chief Justice. Combining quantitative and qualitative methods, the research seeks to shed light on the administrative decisions of Chief Justices that have a significant impact on judicial outcomes and influence the trajectory of constitutional democracy in the region.
