Gvantsa Elgendashvili is an S.J.D. Candidate in International Business Law (Department of Legal Studies) at Central European University (CEU). She holds an LL.M degree in International Business Law from CEU and Master’s degree in Private Law from Ivane Javakhishvili Tbilisi State University. Gvantsa’s doctoral project examines the legal issues related to the securitization of intellectual property rights under the supervision of Professor Tibor Tajti.

Before joining CEU for doctorate studies, Gvantsa was an Invited Lecturer at Georgian-American University, School of Law, Social Sciences & Diplomacy. Courses taught by her focused on European Integration, the European Union (EU) institutions, EU Internal Market Law. She also served as Senior Associate at SunBreath Corp. Legal Services consulting clients on all forms of business transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, issuance of securities, credit facilities, joint ventures and liquidations.

In addition to the stated activities, Gvantsa served as an arbitrator for Willem C. Vis International Commercial Arbitration Moot in 2020 and 2021 (Vienna rounds) and as a judge for national rounds for The Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition in 2021.

During her studies, Gvantsa was a recipient of governmental and university scholarships in Georgia (for the best academic performance in 2013-2016 years), as well as student grant for the best academic performance at CEU in 2018 that allowed her to participate in study-visits to the European Union institutions and Transparency International (TI) Brussels office.
