Dr. Winkler contributed to the event on "Women’s reproductive rights and the human right to life – a contradiction?" held on April 18, 2024. She stressed that reproductive rights, including the right to abortion, are human rights. UN human rights bodies have extensively dealt with the negative impacts of criminalization of abortion, which puts lives and wellbeing at risk. Ultimately reproductive rights are about autonomy and agency - the right to control our sexuality,  gender, and reproduction, and the right to make decisions about our bodies and our families.
The Human Rights Talks serve as a platform for discourse on topical social and political questions, hosted by the Ludwig Boltzmann Institute of Fundamental and Human Rights, the Austrian League of Human Rights and the University of Vienna hosted a top-class panel at the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna.
