The Department of Legal Studies is proud to announce that our SJD candidate Carolina Bertazolli received the SERA-LSA grant for researchers focusing on socio-economic rights. The grant is awarded by Social and Economic Rights Associates in partnership with the Law and Society Association. Social and Economic Rights Associates identified a gap in support for research on socio-economic rights and seeks to advance such scholarship.

This year, Carolina is one of five grantees around the world awarded this grant. Her dissertation entitled '"Limitations of economic, social, and cultural rights in the global and regional human rights systems" seeks to advance the conceptual understanding of limitations of human rights by drawing on the jurisprudence of global and regional human rights mechanisms. The grant provides her with USD 5,000 to enable her to advance her research. Congratulations to Carolina!
