December 10 is International Human Rights Day which proclaims the inalienable rights that everyone is entitled to as a human being - regardless of race, colour, religion, sex, language, political or other opinion, national or social origin, property, birth or other status. To celebrate this special day, Prof. Inga Winkler, Associate Professor and Chair of the Human Rights Program, and Prof. Juliana Cesario Alvim Gomes, Visiting Professor have created a video you can watch below or on CEU's YouTube channel.
With the rise of authoritarian regimes, the persecution of minorities in many countries, rising economic inequalities, persistent gender-based violence, threats caused by climate change and environmental degradation, and millions of people fleeing their homes, the struggle for human rights is more relevant and more important than ever.
