Year of Graduation: 2019

Program: Master of Laws in International Business Law

Khrystyna currently works as Investment Analyst at Luge Capital, Canadian-based venture capital fund. The fund makes early stage investments in companies developing financial technologies as well as artificial intelligence applied to fintech. In her role, Khrystyna sources new investment opportunities, participates in due diligence, manages transactional matters, and provides ongoing support to Luge portfolio companies.

Immediately after graduating from CEU, Khrystyna worked as an M&A and private capital lawyer with Baker McKenzie, out of their Kyiv office. In early 2021, Khrystyna joined the legal department of Genesis, one of the largest tech businesses in Ukraine, and Flyer One Ventures, a venture capital fund that invests in early-stage companies across Central and Eastern Europe.

Khrystyna believes that her education at CEU has proved itself to be invaluable for her career. She regularly uses knowledge gained from CEU’s courses in International Investment Law and Regulation, Comparative Secured Transactions, Comparative Bankruptcy Law, US Corporations and Partnership Law, and Legal Aspects of Corporate Finance and Corporate Governance. She also thinks that the process of writing her master’s thesis - a piece entitled “Directors’ Fiduciary Duties: Should Delaware’s Approach be Followed in Ukraine?” - tremendously improved her comparative research skills.

When asked about her CEU experience, Khrystyna replies: “The CEU chapter gave me an amazing opportunity to learn from dedicated and hardworking professionals, and it taught me how to learn from my classmates”. She advises all current and prospective CEU students to make the most of their time at CEU in regard to their formal education, but also their social life.
