On 4 November 2019, Professor Emeritus Tibor Várady of the CEU Department of Legal Studies was honored with the József Eötvös Lifetime Achievement Award (Eötvös József-koszorú) by the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. The prize was awarded at the first session of a series of events devoted to the celebration of Hungarian sciences held at the University of Pannonia in Veszprém.
The Award recognizes Professor Várady’s accomplishments in the fields of international private and commercial law. In particular, the Academy recognized the success of his co-authored textbook International Commercial Arbitration: A Transnational Perspective, the seventh edition of which was released in 2018.
The Department of Legal Studies is proud of Professor Várady’s achievements and warmly congratulates him on the receipt of this prestigious award.
