On April 11, 2019, Boris Praštalo publicly defended his doctoral (S.J.D.) dissertation titled: “Uniformity in the Application of the CISG – Analysis of the Problem and Recommendations for the Future.”

The dissertation, as suggested in the title, explored the never-ending debate on uniform application of the UN Convention on Contracts for the International Sale of Goods, better known as the CISG. The meaning of the concept of uniformity, its history, and its practical implications are only some of the aspects of the debate that Mr. Praštalo has meticulously explored in his work.

Professor Markus Petsche was the supervisor of the project. At the defense the committee included Professor Tibor Várady (CEU), as well as Professor Lisa Spagnolo from Monash University. The committee unanimously awarded Mr. Praštalo the grade summa cum laude.

The Department of Legal Studies congratulates Dr. Praštalo on this achievement and wishes him success in his future endeavors.
