A 2008 documentary examining the iconic photograph of Che Guevara by Alberto Diaz Gutiérrez - dealing with the how the image has been used, restructured, and reinterpreted accross the world. The documentary begins to unpack the complex interactions between copyright and historic images, leading discussion into the way rights are created and can impact the broader reach of an image.
Drawing on two specific excerpts of the documentary, we invite discussion on the relationship between iconic images and copyright - looking at 'ownership' and how this is affected in a modern, global context.
