On 8 October 2025, the Department of Legal Studies welcomed a delegation of faculty and doctoral candidates from Airlangga University, one of Indonesia’s leading research institutions. The delegates took part in the SJD seminar, where Prof. Markus Böckenförde and SJD candidate Victor Giusti De Castro led a discussion of Mercier and Sperber’s seminal book The Enigma of Reason. Following the seminar, five doctoral candidates from Airlangga presented their research projects and received constructive feedback from CEU faculty and the SJD community. The event provided a fruitful platform for academic exchange and an excellent opportunity to strengthen collaboration between CEU and Airlangga University, further expanding the Department’s global network.
