On 17 May 2018, the Department of Legal Studies and Jeantet hosted an international conference entitled: “The New Hungarian Arbitration Act: Views from Hungary and Abroad”. This event featured 19 prominent speakers from 7 countries (Hungary, France, Germany, Austria, Romania, Croatia, Israel) and was attended by more than 70 delegates consisting primarily of legal academics, practitioners, and students. The four panels discussed a number of topical and controversial issues arising under the new Act pertaining to arbitration agreements, arbitral institutions and arbitrators, the arbitral proceedings, and the arbitral award.
