CEU Professors and SJDs participate in AmCham event on Corporate Compliance

October 6, 2017

As part of the increasing cooperation between CEU’s International Business Law program and AmCham Hungary, on October 3 several professors and SJDs participated in AmCham’s event on The Corporate Compliance Challenge: Crisis Prevention and Threat Management. The event, which included presentations by lawyers from DLA Piper, Richter Gedeon, and Mercedes-Benz Hungary, centered around questions of corporate compliance with national rules for the prevention of corruption such as the US Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, the UK Bribery Act, and the new French Sapin II law. Because these national laws have extraterritorial effect, they affect businesses globally, and compliance with their provisions is an ongoing issue for corporate clients.
