August 30, 2016

16 young law students or graduates from 14 different countries have been selected from a broad and highly competitive pool of candidates to present their research at the second CEU Legal Studies Undergraduate Summer Conference.

The aim of the conference was to provide a platform for young lawyers to discuss their research on current topics on international business law, human rights and constitutional law before an international audience, to receive feedback from faculty members and doctoral students, and to get to know better CEU Legal Studies, its people and curricular offerings.

The conference took place on August 25-26, 2016, with panels on Hate and the Law, Contemporary Challenges in the Harmonization of Business Law and Settlement of Commercial Disputes, Criminal Justice in the 21st Century, New Horizons of Intellectual and Information Property Law, Grappling with Diversity in Search of Equality for All. Participants, who were hosted free of charge at the CEU Residence Center, enjoyed highly stimulating debates, enriched by the conference’s multi-cultural and interdisciplinary settings, and complemented by a number of other academic and social activities.
