Atkilit Bekele, a 2020 graduate of Central European University (CEU) with an LL.M. in International Business Law, currently serves as the General Counsel of the Ethiopian Securities Exchange (ESX) the first organized securities exchange in Ethiopia, established in October 2023.
Before joining ESX, Atkilit worked as a transaction advisor, providing legal advice on public-private partnerships, project finance, mergers and acquisitions, foreign direct investment (FDI), and competition law. She also serves as a part-time lecturer at Addis Ababa University School of Law, teaching Secured Transactions Law.
In addition to her professional roles, Atkilit serves as the Vice President of Ethiopian Women in Energy (EWiEn), a civil society organization committed to promoting gender-responsive development within the energy sector.
