Professor Tibor Tajti's chapter titled 'The Restructuring-Bankruptcy Stigma Nexus - In Light of the 2019 Preventive Restructuring Directive of the EU' has just been published in the bilingual (English-French) volume 'La transposition de la Directive (UE) 2019/1023 dite 'Restructuration et Insolvabilité' edited by Thomas Mastrullo and Oleksiy Kononov.
The chapter analyzes the impact of the intense bankruptcy stigma on the prospects of the 2019 Preventive Restructuring Directive of the European Union, aimed at supporting the claim that the success of the Directive requires reduction of the intensity of the stigma, inter alia. The paper points to various stigma-related projects of recent vintage, primarily undertaken in the United States, to corroborate the claim, as well as to some unresearched areas of business life of relevance (e.g., abandoned and 'zombie' companies.
