Given the high priority the European Union attributes to the ‘second chance’ bankruptcy philosophy and restructuring of businesses in, or facing, financial distress, it might be of interest to some of our students and alumni that a related international conference devoted to the topic will take place at the University of Luxembourg on the 30th of May 2024. The conference is titled ‘The Role of Debtors and Creditors in the Transposition of Directive (EU) 2019/1023 on Restructuring and Insolvency’ that besides restructuring practitioners’ presentations will include also a talk by Prof. Tibor Tajti on the relevance and impact of the bankruptcy stigma on restructurings in Europe.
